if a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn

The Neuro Ed

Dedicated to making the educational journey more inclusive and supportive for neurodivergent students. By emphasising a strength-based approach, I aim to unlock a more positive and empowering experience for students, families and schools.

Embracing Neurodiversity

What is neurodiversity

Neurodiversity is a concept that recognises and respects the diverse range of neurological conditions and cognitive variations that exist among individuals. It emphasises that differences in brain function and behaviour, including conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and others, are not deficits to be fixed but rather natural variations of the human experience.

nurturing our uniqueness

At The Neuro Ed, I believe that every individual has unique strengths and capabilities that contribute to our society. My aim is to celebrate these differences and provide support for neurodivergent individuals, their families and schools as they navigate the educational journey.

confidence through support

My goal is to create inclusive environments that celebrate each person’s unique way of thinking, learning, and interacting with the world. By promoting understanding, acceptance, and tailored strategies, we empower neurodivergent individuals to thrive academically, socially, and personally.

“Make no mistake, this world needs all types of children, the quiet, easy-going peacekeepers that sit still and observe…the loud, shake-it-up, feel it deep, changemakers that are always on the go…and every unique soul inbetween, let’s stop sending the message that only one type of child is a good child.”

Here is a more detailed guide as to what I do and how I might be able to support your family, child, school or workplace.

Specialist Teaching of Neurodiversity

I have had the privilege of working with neurodiverse learners for many years, including those with ADHD, autism and dyslexia. I believe in celebrating the strengths and talents of neurodiverse individuals while addressing their unique challenges, fostering a positive and inclusive learning experience. 1-1 sessions will support their individual learning and emotional wellbeing, or group sessions will develop social awareness and communication skills. I will use a variety of individualised programmes to support the needs of each student I work with.

Through personalised coaching and strategies tailored to each individual’s unique needs, I help my students develop essential skills and useful strategies they need to excel in their pursuits at school and beyond.

What Our clients say

Sarah has made a massive difference in a short time. Her experience, kindness and knowledge shines through. I have met very few people who get George and what is going on with him and the impact around him. It’s really amazing for us and relieves a sense of struggle for us. You inspire trust when a lot of time there is frustration.

mother of 8 year old

Sarah held our hand from the beginning of the journey when we were finding things very difficult. She helped us stay calm and together we found a school that suited Laura so well. Along the way she supported my daughter and made sure everyone was working together. Laura has gone from an anxious and impulsive child to a confident and happy teenager.

Year 9 Parent

Sarah gave an excellent presentation to our parent group. The content was thorough, easy to follow and relate to. What she said made so much sense and put a lot of parents at ease. She gave them the confidence to talk openly about their children and share their stories or seek guidance and support from others. Sarah is witty and engaging and it was the best ice breaker for our beginning of school year gathering!
